Namita Waikar was born in Mumbai in 1961 and studied Biochemistry at the University of Mumbai. She is managing editor of the People’s Archive of Rural India (PARI) where she leads and writes for the Grindmill Songs Project and oversees its translations programme. She is also a partner in a chemistry databases firm in Pune, which is the culmination of her work experience as a biochemist and a software project manager.
